Looking for a training partner (Male / Female) any age, who would like to do a 8 - 10 mile run every weekend, and possibly do a 5 mile run during the week.

Standard is 11.5km - 12km pace - so no speed merchants need apply.

Based in Abbeyleix - Laois, but would travel (weekend only) to other venues.

Plan is to do 5 half marathans in 2009 - connemara, achill, inis boffin, longford & dublin. So would be cool if training partner was thinking of doing a few of those.

Send Response to Ross@campionins.com if interested.

Do you know anyting about the Active weekend in co. mayo - do many people go on their own to these places
Do you have to make your own travel to the events from the hotel or is there a coach to bring us back and forth?

Hi,
I'm sure there will be plenty of people there on their own. All the events are being held in the hotel, its got quite large grounds, except of course for the Croagh Patrick climb. You will need your own transport to Croagh Patrick but there is the possibility that you may be able to carpool with someone on the day.

Hope this helps if you have any other questions feel free to post them.

Hi Seb,
Just wondering if you have any details about the events on at the active weekend? The brochure just says what the events are but doesnt really say much about them. Is the swim an open water or pool based? If there is any more details available I'd love to have a look, sounds like a great idea.
Thanks,
Kate..

The swim will be in a 20m pool at the kingfisher club based in the hotel, teh talk will be done by myself, about general fitness, food and my own experience with the Olympian i work(ed) with.

The Croagh Patrick climb will be done at your own time with a couple of questions and some some points will be rewarded for each challenge. You will have to manage to go there on your own or with others if you want too.

Remember it is a nice weekend away, with nice activities just for relaxing and doing some physical activities at your own pace.

The run/walk will be on the sunday morning on the ground of the hotel. It is a really nice place I think you will all enjoyed.

There will be a lunch on teh sunday with some prices I think from the Lynch hotel group.

Hi Seb - To be honest i was suppose to go to the West of Ireland Active weekend with a friend - however don't think they will be going now, so what i was wondering was do you know if many single people have signed up for this weekend i would really hate to be the only single one there, i have never done anyting like this before so maybe i am just a bit anxious.

Thanks
Boo peep

I got an answer from the lynch Hotel, they said there is about 20 booking single and double so far and that they have some advertising in the national paper this week. They also said that they have a list of people to come back to them, and that includes locals who want to particpate but don't want to saty in the hotel.

Sounds good so far, I am looking for this, relax and active weekend.

Regarding the climb, you can go on your own or with other people, it is very flexible, you just have to come back for the evening :-) so you have all day long for it.
